IDEATION
Ideation sketches of a handheld object. I settled on a floss dispenser and reimagined it as various other objects, like a tape dispenser, paper towel holder, and record player, building off those ideas as I moved from sketch to sketch.
ITERATION
Created 15 iterations of a floss dispenser made of pink foam. Each model informed the next. What began as an hour plus per model process took 25 minutes maximum by the last few iterations.
Moving from right to left, the models slowly became smaller and rounder. The first two held the floss on the side, realized for hygiene the floss should be protected. Experimenting with finger placement guides towards the end, ultimately ditching them for the very last iteration.
