Sawhorse (in italics) was created to fulfill requirements of a Prototyping Solutions course. The sawhorse subverted the very idea of a sawhorse: what is usually known to support heavy objects now relies on two metal planks, secured to its willowy rear limbs, as it's perched at a precarious 45 degree angle. Both through mortis and tenon joints and screws are employed to keep the Sawhorse standing, and are a visual queue to the viewer that both hand and power tools were used in the making of this object.
The process began with ideation and sketching, then physical prototyping with miniature to scale cardboard models and accurately sized joint models, and finally executed.
